Current Inspiration

Throughout our lives we’ll come in contact with a lot of books, pictures, songs and people that can inspire us. Some of them we seek out, but others just seem to click because we’ve come across them at the right time. Whatever the case may be, here are some of the things inspiring me right now. Hopefully, they serve as inspiration for you as well.

Running YouTubers: Is it just me, or did the running community grow by 500% in 2020? I’m sure most of it had to do with people finding alternatives for hitting the gym or joining their favorite CrossFit group, but I welcome all newcomers. In the spirit of more people pounding the pavement, I’ve found that the quality of running advice and inspiration on YouTube has really gone up. From Seth James DeMoor to Kofuzi and EDDBUD, among others, you can find a wealth of shoe and gear reviews and running tips online.

Jocko Willink: A friend that’s into jiu jitsu got me to follow Jocko on Instagram. Seriously, if you aren’t up at 4:30 a.m. doing work, Jocko will make you want to set that alarm a little bit earlier.

Matt Farah: He loves cars and watches. So do I.

Tyler McCandless: I don’t remember how I started following him on Instagram, but if I ever feel like not running, I look at a few of his recent posts and lace ’em up.

Run the Jewels: I saw a 40-some-year-old dad rocking an RTJ shirt in the park the other day. I really should’ve walked over and thrown him a “pistol and fist.” Want to be part of that? Fire up any of their tracks right now.
